President - Jeff Van Wyk
Jeff and his wife moved to Silver Springs in June 2010. Together they have one son who hopes to one day be enrolled in the Silver Springs Preschool. Jeff has been a board member of the Silver Springs Community Association since January 2013 and has fulfilled the role of Treasurer during that time. “I wanted to join the board and be more involved and take an active part in shaping our community."
Vice President - Cydney Elofson
Cydney has lived in Silver Springs since 2006. She started volunteering with the Preschool in 2008 and joined the SSCA Board of Directors in 2011. Cydney also chaired the Silver Springs Outdoor Pool Fundraising Foundation, which with the help of dedicated community members, raised sufficient funds to encourage The City of Calgary to include a dive tank in the new Silver Springs Outdoor Pool. She loves Silver Springs because of the spectacular green spaces, energetic people, and great facilities such as the Outdoor Pool, community garden, and amazing running/walking/cycling paths. She loves to travel and has spent time throughout Western Europe, East Africa, Russia, Turkey, Sri Lanka and Costa Rica – so far. Cydney and her husband like to include adventures in their travels; they climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro together in 2000 and were certified to dive in 2001 in Kas, Turkey. Cydney grew up on her family’s farm outside of Ponoka, Alberta, where her parents still live.
Treasurer- Scott Chomistek
Scott has lived in Silver Springs since 2010 and joined the board in 2013. Scott loves being involved in the community because Silver Springs has such wonderful people who deserve the best community they can have. In his spare time Scott enjoys spending time in the tremendous green spaces in Silver Springs, traveling with his family and playing squash.
Secretary - Jennifer Dotchin
Jennifer lives with her husband and son in Silver Springs. She’s lived in the Community since 2009 and absolutely loves it. What she enjoys most about Silver Springs is the beautiful parks, her lovely neighbours and cycling in Bowmont park. She joined the board in 2016 to support the amazing work that the Silver Springs Community Association undertakes, and became Secretary in 2018. Jennifer spends her work days as a health policy consultant, and her weekends exploring mountains and parks.
