SSCA BOARD NOMINATIONS
The date for the AGM for the SSCA is January 16, 2020. At the AGM, the SSCA Board of Directors Nominating Committee shall recommend to the Board candidates to fill any vacancies on the Board and shall nominate a full slate of candidates for election to the Board. The Board of Directors of the SSCA is seeking nominations for eligible Members of the SSCA who are interested in serving on the Board. Interested parties should provide an expression of interest and list of qualifications or resume to the following address by no later than December 27, 2019, after which nominations will be closed:

Constable Doug Sherwood of the Crime Prevention Team of the Calgary Police Service will share tips on how to protect yourself against crime including personal, home, vehicle and family safety and awareness. He will answer questions people might have about specific concerns and will be available for Q&A following the presentation.
This session if open to everyone and is free. No need to preregister.

SILVER SPRINGS BIRTH PLACE FOREST NATURALIZATION PROJECT FALL 2019
Project description This fall Calgary Parks, in partnership with the Silver Springs Botanical Garden Society, will be naturalizing two Birthplace Forest shrub beds and further beautifying this public space. Volunteers will be in the area in September to plant native shrubs and add more understory to the Birthplace Forest beds. INFO

CALLING ALL LEGO ENTHUSIASTS!!!
Silver Springs Community Association with be hosting its 14th Annual LEGO Competition on January 25, 2020. We have age categories for 2 yrs to 102 yrs! Call to get your-self registered!
Contestants create their LEGO entry at home in one of our 4 categories: Structures, Transportation , Cool Scenes and Family Build (family of your choice parents and kids, grandparents, work families, school group families, etc) and then drop them off at the Silver Springs Community Association for judging by our local volunteer judges. All entrants receive a participation ribbon and first place winners in each category receive a small prize. The event is open to the public for viewing of all entries. Get creative and get entered! This holiday season, SSCA will once again be accepting
Food Bank Donations.
Drop off your donation of non-perishable goods anytime during
office hours, before end of day December 9th.
Not sure what to donate?
Food Bank Wish List: Canned tomatoes, fruit, soup, vegetables,
proteins and fish. Peanut Butter, pasta and pasta sauce, rice and cereal are always in demand. Gluten-free pancake, bread and biscuit mixes. Baby food and baby formula and diapers are also in great need. Pet food is always appreciated!
Food Bank clients are our neighbours. Think about what you and your own family enjoy or use and donate those items.
BREAKFAST WITH SANTA-SOLD OUT!!

Tickets go on sale November 1st for SSCA members and November 4th to the public.

Held annually in November. This year's market is November 16, 2019 10am - 3pm, Stop by the community centre and shop our vendors and their unique handcrafted items: knitting, crocheting, wood items, jewelry, hand made candles and soaps, tapestry purses/bags, lighted wood signs, art prints, art cards, hot/cold packs, bead demons, recycled wool mittens, suncatchers, stainglass, rope baskets, pet items, felted dryer balls, Christmas decor and much much more!
